Closing my account?
So I haven't really used my deviantart account in quite some time. And I stopped by today to take a look. I was shocked when I clicked on my "Zebra in Contrast" print to see that it was open to be downloaded by other users!! I'm flattered that 140 people liked it so much to do so, but I never intended that. I don't know if a setting got changed without my doing, or if I overlooked that option when I initially uploaded it. Whichever the case though, I'm very upset that my photo is apparently floating around out there in the web without my knowing about it. Why can dA have a notifying method like they do for comments and favs when someone
Business
Wow I sure haven't updated anything on here in quite awhile. But no fear, I have just been super busy with work. I'm teaching AP Studio Art this year and its a ton of fun, but lots of grading and prepping for classes. If you want to take a look at the collections I've been gathering for student examples for projects, you can take a look at www.designedtoteach.deviantart.com and look at faves and collections.
Life has been hectic lately with work. I'm also unsure as of the existence of my job for next year since my district is facing some pretty hefty budget cuts. I've decided to start applying for grad school just in case, so we'll see
Sad Day
Sad day for me... my last childhood puppy passed away. He was born at our house (we owned his mother) and he was the one puppy we kept of the litter. Bruiser, formally known and Dick the Bruiser, named after Dick Butkus for all you Bears fans, because he used to plow over the rest of the puppies when it was time to eat.
He was very smart boy and learned many tricks. He was also a good playmate as a kid and he used to chase me in circles around the island in the kitchen. Bruiser, I am so happy you are finally not in pain, but you are dearly missed. My little puppy has gone home.
I had many pets growing up including 4 dogs, numerous bar
SOFA Show and Obama, what a week for Chicago!
So this week started out with election day which was HUGE here in Chicago. I had a chance to get a ticket for the Obama election night rally and I waited and was too late. I am now kicking myself, wishing that I had gone. What a momentous event for this country, and Chicago. I am so overjoyed that Obama won the election. I can't wait until 1/20/09 when he can finally start to turn this nation around.
Also in Chicago this week was the SOFA show. If you have never been, I highly suggest it. This was actually my first time attending and my brain almost hurts from the amount of inspiration and awe I encountered. The show is at Navy Pier
